Silver Surfer - Behind The Silver Body

The character of Silver Surfer in latest Fantastic 4 film, Rise Of The Silver Sulfer, is a fictional character created by its original writer Stan Lee and artist (also co plotter) Jack Kirby.

In comic edition of Fantastic 4, the Silver Surfer first appearance is in the comic book number 48 on March 1966. It is the first issue of called by Fantastic 4 fans as "The Galactus Trilogy"

Originally, the Silver Surfer was known in his home world as Norrin Radd, a young astronomer of the Planet Zenn-La. To save his homeworld from the destruction by cosmic entity named Galactus, Noorin made a decision of making a bargain, a secret deal with Galactus.

In the deal, Norrin pledged himself to serve Galactus. After that Norrin acquired great powers and a portion of Galactus's Power Cosmic. After that, Norrin became the Silver Surfer with a silvery appearance and a surf-board-like vehicle to enable him to travel accross the galaxy.

The board was modelled by his childhood fantasy. With the board that flies him, Norrin began to roam the cosmic world searching for new planets for his master Galactus to consume. Wow, Galactus is really huge "planet-eater".

When he finally travelled to Earth, the Silver Surfer came face-to-face with the team of Fantastic 4. In the film, the military had proved that Dr Van Doom had contacted the Silver Surfer and became the main reason for Silver Surfer to come to Earth.
